MILAN, Apr 17, 2009 / FW/ — While the Japanese are rediscovering Dirk Bikkembergs at the 6+ANTWERP FASHION currently on exhibit at the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, the designer’s “Sneaker Delight” collection becomes a testament why he is one of the Antwerp 6 that revolutionized fashion.
Now in stores, the Bikkembergs Footwear Spring / Summer 2009 collection is changing the streetscape with the collection of smart casual sneakers customized to the taste and needs of the sporty Bikkembergs man. Proposed in fluorescent shades of green, pink, yellow and black, the sneakers literally jump into the eye.
A hit from the very start, BKE372 makes an even more powerful impression through its fluorescent patent leather model, available in fuchsia, green, orange, white and yellow for strong colour impact. The fluo sneaker is designed for adults, kids and teens.
A true de-luxe sneaker, the BKE660/662 is the revitalized version of the traditional football boot, featuring a leather outsole and rubber heel. The new edition has a shiny leather upper with lamé and shiny leather trims in contrast colors.
Color combinations include dark grey/silver/brown, white/lead/blue, white/gold/violet, blue/silver/purple, white/ gold/green and white/white/blue. The upper shows the characteristic double stitching, for extra strength and detailing, as well as embroidered logo lettering.
Both models feature leather lining and padded collar for extra comfort. The tongue holds a lacing slot to keep it from moving.
