BARCELONA, Apr 15, 2009 / FW/ — A high concept show, Txell Miras was inspired by the idea of inclusion and exclusion and used photos, films, paintings, even books as the basis of the silhouettes that she presented last Mar 17 at 080 Barcelona.
Entitled “EMMARCANT / FRAMING”, he collection focuses on the physical concept of the frame, the limitations surrounding a visual speech, text and its context. It is a reflection on sound and silence, and on understanding and misunderstanding.
This concept is applied to some garments through square frames that break up the rounded shapes of the human body.
Subtle volumes and appliqué angles, rigid pieces and ethereal shapes, structured details and distortions as a result of the cut of the fabric, oversized and tight clothes, belts that become frames, double sleeves with angular shoulders, among others.
